Why does ‘/s’, an Internet signal to communicate sarcasm through a medium that does not adequately do so bother you?
Regarding what you’re really saying: reddit is here. I had every post of mine downvoted into oblivion by bots because I essentially said that as parents we shouldn’t punish our children for having views that are slightly out of line with our own. The obsession, knee jerk reactions and hive mind mentality are here to stay. As someone who was on the site since 2010: this is the most reddit fucking post ever.
I couldn’t agree more. It shouldn’t be the case that you can get someone’s comment hidden because you don’t like them and went through their entire comment history. If I gave an awful take, sure, it would even be better if you just told me so I can reevaluate myself.
I used to work in the video game industry and provided a bit of insight into some behind the scenes stuff that didn’t violate my NDAs. There’s tons of stuff that gamers sometimes have to say about the tech, and I like to sometimes quietly share a bit about the situation. All of that rather innocuous commentary was buried.

Do better.
