A leading U.S. health official on Sunday urged people to get inoculated against the measles at a time of outbreaks across several states and as the United States is at risk of losing its measles elimination status.

“Take the vaccine, please,” said Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services administrator whose boss has raised suspicion about the safety and importance of vaccines. “We have a solution for our problem.”

Oz, a heart surgeon, defended some recently revised federal vaccine recommendations as well as past comments from President Donald Trump and the nation’s health chief, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., about the efficacy of vaccines. From Oz, there was a clear message on the measles.

My MAGA ex husband told our son that the vaccine had HIV in it after he already got it. Luckily our son believes in science so he was able to figure out that his dad had just gone coo coo but it’s still a pretty scary thing to tell a child

I think he genuinely believes all of this Q anon stuff. We don’t have much contact with him anymore because he would go on long rants about how Antifa stormed the capital and other crazy q anon stuff. He also started bringing guns everywhere. He helped me canvas for Obama in 2008. This cult has sucked a lot of people in. He used to be pretty normal idk it pretty crazy. Unfortunately, I think most American families have people like this in them

Thank you for sharing that personal note. I’m so sorry to hear what you and your son had to go through. The fact that your ex even helped you with canvassing for Obama in 2008 and then for things to turn around like this is mind-boggling.

But you’re right to point out that the cult has sucked in so many people, particularly some who used to be quite normal at an earlier point. This is very sad and I feel for you, your son, and everyone who has suffered from this.

I really wonder about such swings. Can I ask - has his physical health deteriorated? I’m wondering if that precedes this sort of thing. Perhaps he is hypertensive? Undetectable mini strokes? Brain injury makes sense for this big of a shift to me. Feel free not to reply but I am interested

Then the half of the country that voted for this pedofile must have it too. I’m not in any position to meddle in his life

Someone on facebook was telling us the vaccine gave him aids or something like that too. I did call him on that one and even the antii vaxxers piled on him, they were saying he was just fucking with everyone, thinking it’s funny. Those people really do get some people to agree with them like your ex I guess, even as they are just fucking with people for their lulz.

Thats how flat earth theory started. People in the 1600s never believed earth is flat. People started “believing” it as a joke.

Except then other people started following the herd.
