I’d personally accept as little as 20 miles in electric only mode, as that’d cover my daily commute and well over 70% of my miles in practice.
The reason why the new Prius is cool is because its got 200+ horsepower, its a speedy little bugger that feels better to drive than most of the competition. These are the things that matters to a car enthusiast.
It looks like the new Prius wheel is 18"? Which IMO looks fine?
Just wanna make sure we’re talking about the same make/model here. I think I can agree that the interior is smaller than most, but I’m cool with small cars.
18 inch wheels are massive for a vehicle of its intended purpose. In comparison, the 2nd Gen Prius has 15 inch wheels.
They put these sized wheels because they appeal to buyers. They’re more weight. More specifically, they’re more unsprung weight accounting for more rotating mass and resulting in less efficency. That makes no sense for a vehicle that’s meant to be efficient.
The size is also in comparison to the 2nd Gen, and even the 3rd and 4th. Both of which were larger than this. The height is the worse of it all.

I love the new Prius, but I really dislike the wheel size and the size of the interior. It’s gotten smaller with no reason to justify that.

Gotcha. Thanks for you input, gives me something to think about.
