An island like this just sounds like a gated community with a moat though. No cars, but no grocery to walk to, nothing you need is there, just golf and houses.
Sure I want my city walkable, with better (it’s way below adequate) public transportation but I want to be able to walk to work (I can), to the grocery (I can) to the doctor or dentist (I can) to my kids’ schools (cannot) and to shops, restaurants, parks (mostly cannot). In the city - a living city with jobs and things to do!
I don’t understand living on an island that is just a house farm like any other suburb here, disconnected from everything.
