Apple today confirmed that watchOS 27 will not support the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra (first generation), or Apple Watch SE (second generation), effectively drawing a line at devices equipped with the S9 or S10 chip. The only Apple Watch models compatible with watchOS 27 are the Apple Watch Series 10, Series 11, Ultra 2, Ultra 3, and SE 3. Despite the fact that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 contains the S9 chip, the Series 9 which contains the same chip will no longer be supported.
dropping Series 9 seems kinda rough… it’s only 3 years old.
This is a mistake apparently series 9 is supposed to be supported
that makes more sense
It’s not supported.

Your link says it is compatible
Yes it is https://gizmodo.com/confirmed-watchos-27-does-in-fact-support-apple-watch-series-9-2000768714
Yeah, WTAF, I have a series 9. It still feels new to me. What will it not be able to do? Have they said yet?
According to Apple, it’s supported
Update to the new watchOS, but apparently that’s not accurate according to what someone else said.
