I don’t speak Chinese, know very little about Chinese culture or Chinese history. Am I therefore banned from criticizing the well documented and ongoing violations of human rights in China? The treatment of Uighurs, the death penalty, the lack of democracy, the suppression of women’s rights?

Thanks for the respectful response. Always nice to talk to someone who knows how to behave themselves and treat strangers well.

I know that you responded to me with insults, which is not only rude but also in violation of one of the rules of the channel.

That said, I don’t need to be an expert in any country’s culture or history to criticize them when they violate basic human rights. I didn’t think that was controversial, but aparently it is, at least to some.

I didn’t call you dumb. I presumed you were talking about a hypothetical scenario. It seems I was wrong, and I should have called you dumb.

If you don’t know their culture/history or can’t read what they publish how you can judge and analyse whodunit or whydunit? Do you think that people who is actually trying to do something about Israel doesn’t know shit about them and are only shitposting online based on vibes? You can criticize anything but without knowing what you talking about you just sound like a dumbass regurgitating what others are telling you.

Again, very civil of you. Your mother must be very proud. I told you I knew very little about Chinese culture but still objected to their human rights violations, to which you responded “…shut the fuck up…”, and now you want to pretend that it was a hypothetical. Ok then.

When did I criticize people trying to stop Israels genocide? I’m again, and always, on the side of human rights, and the Palestinian people have their rights violated on a daily basis. I’m saying I don’t need to know exactly who did what to whom and when to want the killings to stop. I don’t know why you object to that.

Because I was been nice, I genuinely didn’t think someone would try to talk about a subject without having any knowledge about the people involved.

If you don’t know about the history of Israel and Palestine, shut the fuck up, the chance of you believing bullshit like the lies about the October and Hamas is gigantic, because again if you don’t know nothing about the subject how you can do a valid analysis? Without knowledge you are manipulated mass and you can easily fight for the wrong side of history.

Oh yeah, so nice you told me to shut up and then tried to gaslight me. Ok. Who said anything about “without having any knowledge”? You don’t need to be an expert on a subject to have an opinion. I’m not an expert on China, but I can still have and opinion on their human rights violations. And I do.

If you don’t know about the history of Israel and Palestine, shut the fuck up…

Again with the politeness… I know enough to want the killings to stop in Palestine, and again, nobody said anything about “…know nothing about the subject”. To me it’s not complicated. If you’re committing human rights violations, you’re in the wrong and you need to stop, because the ends do not justify the means. Who made you the gatekeeper? You sure you have the full picture and isn’t just manipulated and on the wrong side of history?

I don’t speak Chinese, know very little about Chinese culture or Chinese history.

Now imagine you deleted that part of your comment and replaced it by saying you’re an expert on China and Chinese human rights.

Imagine I did, would that give more or less credibility to my disdain of how the Chinese government is behaving in regards to these issues?

Sure, lying isn’t adding to anyone’s credibility, but let’s say I claim to next to nothing about the previously mentioned Chinese culture or history, but know a lot about human rights? I don’t have to be an expert on China to know that their actions on human rights are terrible.

Compared to the West, China is doing much better on human rights right now. That aside, if you don’t know Chinese culture or Chinese language, you certainly can’t be considered an “expert on Chinese human rights”.

The reason I mentioned Fox News earlier is because the New Atheist movement just regurgitates crusader age propaganda to demonize Muslims, which is the classical equivalent of getting facts from Fox News. People who can’t even independently verify facts can certainly not be called experts in any field. Their only way of knowledge is repeating second hand information from others which would then be the actual experts (if they spoke the truth)

I don’t think there is such a thing as “Chinese human rights”. There are only human rights, and China (Chinese government) is violating them. While I agree that parts of the west (US) has taken steps in the wrong direction, saying that China is doing “much better on human rights” is wild, or in other words, completely bonkers.

I will defend Muslims and their human rights every day of the week, even though I detest religion because I believe that human rights are just that, rights.

The West is currently committing a full scale genocide in Palestine but i’m sure you can excuse that because they’re just brown people being killed by enlightened Westerners.

I have never, nor will I ever, excuse the genocide in Palestine/Gaza. Israel needs to stop killing Palestinians yesterday, no matter what.
