“This again, isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned this ; given the severity of the activity, and the evidence I’ve provided, why hasn’t there been any action”

Because, it’s not your website. The level of entitlement that you show by demanding someone tailor the website that they own to your preferences is ridiculous, the Dev can see your posts and chooses not to respond to you. IPs get banned here and there is a moderation system built on the website. This website is as liable as any other website with an anonymous chatroom or anonymous imageboard, 4chan is a good example.

You claimed in a previous post

“Internal moderation on this site is entirely absent and non-functional” ➡️ https://lemmy.world/post/49041435

Which makes no sense because people are reported and IP banned. Both are impossible if there is no moderation. Furthermore since all interactions are anonymous extensive account wide bans are impossible, only IP bans are possible. You want an account based website and this is not that.

    Another user asks

Is there any resources I can run to stop being mass reported? ➡️ https://lemmy.world/post/48998802

Why are anonymous chatrooms littered throughout the internet in general? Why have they not been banned online in this long history of the internet? Anonymity on privately owned websites has a long history. The best protection against bad actors in a chatroom is simply to avoid chatrooms. There is also a flag button too, are any of you using it?

The bans are not IP made, switching conenections won’t let you evade the ban.

Switching connections absolutely allows you to evade bans If I have a network, where I get the tag 283S as an example, and reset or reuse another IP on the same device to get another tag, my messages would be entirely visible

The flag button exists. But the site is moderated by an AI that is… pretty bad at its function. It flags “Child S––(you know what)” but not “CSAM”.

OK. I’m aware of this How is this going to solve the risk of future distribution, and how is it going to actually get the bad actors to actual authorities

get the bad actors to actual authorities

It is impossible to report anonymous users to the authorities. Anonymity is a feature of Perchance. Users have to practice self responsibility in the generators they use and the chat.

“No User Accounts: Many anonymous sites eliminate data collection and user tracking. Without centralized databases of user emails, login histories, or IP logs, it is much harder for authorities or corporate entities to legally demand user information or build cases against the platform itself.” - Gemini AI

Even if the developer doesn’t actively build a database of emails, the underlying server infrastructure inherently handles IP addresses, connection logs, and device fingerprints. Federal law enforcement agencies like the FBI and NCMEC do not need a username and password to track a criminal; they use subpoenas to demand raw server and CDN traffic logs.

            - No website is truly “logless” unless the developer went out of their way to build a completely custom, untraceable server stack; which standard web hosts LITERALLY do not allow

Under federal laws like the FOSTA-SESTA legislation and strict federal criminal statutes, a platform cannot use “willful blindness” as a legal shield. If a developer builds a public chatroom, is formally notified that federal crimes are occurring on it, and responds with, “Well, I designed it so I don’t track anyone, so I guess I can’t help you,” a court will view that as a deliberate choice to facilitate illegal acts

It doesn’t matter if it isn’t, legal debates regarding the topic are irrelevant to ownership. The level of ignorance to consistently ignore the fact that this is arguably among the worst crimes globally; in the name of some sort of opposition to censorship, is ridiculous

I am really tired of having to circlejerk with you back to what I’ve previously says The automated AI system used for moderation, is both easily bypassable, requires consistent concentration, and is almost entirely absent when we need immediate action

Which makes no sense because people are reported and IP banned. Both are impossible if there is no moderation. Furthermore since all interactions are anonymous extensive account wide bans are impossible, only IP bans are possible. You want an account based website and this is not that.

They nearly always are if they host illegal materials, again, the site immediatly loses its 230 given that there is an insurmountable amount of moderation negligence; and the fact that said materials are being consistently spread

Blocking them, reporting them to an automated system which at minimum isn’t forwarded to law enforcement, and an easily bypassable system where users can merely reset their IP to redistribute materials; is a ludicrous solution

Worst crimes globally, worse than slavery, the Holocaust, the Armenian Genocide? What? Oh my God… You’re a user with a blue helmet UN avatar larping as though you are an authority who can demand things of a developer who is literally ignoring you with good reason no less.

By not retaining user history, these platforms often bypass liability for the content users generate locally.”

“User-Generated Moderation & Obscurity: Content moderation is often decentralized, relying on community reporting, private groups, or obscure sub-communities rather than a central team. By maintaining a low profile or operating as a directory of independently hosted sandboxes, they evade sweeping censorship.”

Child sexual exploitation is universally classified by international law and federal statutes as one of the most severe, non-negotiable violent crimes actively occurring today

The public comment sections and chatrooms are fundamentally server-side 😭🙏🏽💔

“Client-Side Processing: Sites that require no login—where scripts and data are temporarily processed directly in the visitor’s browser or local device—minimize server-side data logs. By not retaining user history, these platforms often bypass liability for the content users generate locally.”

If User A posts a link to illegal material, and User B (miles away) can see and click that link, that data must pass through and be hosted by Perchance’s servers to sync the chatroom. It is not “local.” Furthermore, federal criminal laws regarding child safety completely override standard civil liability exemptions. You cannot code your way out of a federal crime by claiming, “We don’t use logins.” If federal contraband is being distributed across your network infrastructure and you are notified, which they absolutely have been; you are exposed.

And the material is a mix of both what is generated, and literal real life child exploitation

There is a massive difference between “evading automated censorship” and “evading federal criminal prosecution.” Operating as a “decentralized sandbox” or keeping a “low profile” does not grant a platform a magical invisibility cloak against the law.

How the Law Sees It: Under established internet law, a platform is not required to prevent every single bad thing from happening in real-time. It is required to provide a mechanism for users to report abuse and a process to remove illegal content once they are made aware of it.

Good Samaritan Protections: Under Section 230, platforms are actually encouraged to use automated filters and community reporting. The law protects developers who make a “good faith” effort to moderate their platforms, even if some bad content occasionally slips through the automated cracks.

Nothing has been, that’s the issue. Someone literally leaked their trafficking profile on Telegram, on there; and absolutely nothing has been done. People still, actively distribute said materials and nothing has been done. “Not reporting everything” implies there’s been some for, of actual active effective moderation, where there has not

S-230 is nullified under both negligence and the distribution of CSM, I explained this in the prior thread

Chatrooms as one of the worst global crimes, that is wild. You know the website that you are using has no identification of its users, and creators of generators can choose to have chat if they want to which you can choose to join or not join. If you want to take action against Perchance you’re welcome to try.

This is some monumental level of ignorance 😭💔 Child sexual exploitation, the distribution of CSAM, and human trafficking; yes, are one of the highest crimes globally

There is absolutely nothing intellectually inconsistent about it And the creation of the specific gen in question, is the developer themself You could, at minimum, moderate the room or assign moderators so the issue can be avoided entirely

So, you expect a group of people to basically monitor chats for every particular generator on Perchance that codes in a comments panel? In addition to the AI moderation that is already present. That is impossible in real time. Literally impossible in real time. There is an automated system which is an effort, an attempt. But only so much can be done to manage anonymous users.

Yes, I expect basic HUMAN moderation considering the site is now an arguable high risk intermediary; I cannot stress this enough

This will legally come to screw the site later, so; it’s either moderate the damn official generators, or just pull the plug entirely

New Comment panels are popping up every day on new generators, the gen creators and AI moderation is at play. Perchance is not required to have 24/7 human moderation, this is not some sort of new phenomenon. Creators code those chatrooms in because they want to have have them embedded in their gens and have the freedom to do that. You think that you can bully the Dev into forcing people to not code chatrooms, it’s really brazen.
