Literally me, this is why I ignore them and read the EU novels instead.
i only recently read the Heir to the Empire trilogy and am flabberghasted that they didn’t try to adapt those. you’d need to recast the heroes or modify it to explain a longer time gap, but still- you already had the trilogy written! and people already love it! it’s free money!
Timothy Zahn has written a ton of other EU stuff, not least of which is the new Thrawn trilogy that covers his early days in the Empire (and is part of current canon). I highly recommend all of it.
