This show any good?
It’s alright… it’s basically a romcom. I don’t think I’d recommend it to people but I’m not hating it. The characters are charming enough but aside from the main plot gimmick there doesn’t seem to be too much progression in the story.
depends on what you’re looking for :p
I think this is technically seinen, but the story is very shoujo-coded. It’s a sweet romcom with a very green-flag ML. The relationship progression is decent, the supporting cast is fleshed out, and there really isn’t any miscommunication drama / will-they-won’t-they – the catch is, there is a lot of that re: the FL’s whole kaiju thing (very much like classic ultraman, actually).
The kaiju sequences are CGI, but they don’t really break my immersion. The camerawork/direction is pretty good. I’ve really liked the writing so far; they haven’t been afraid to tackle complex issues (most recently, makeup) while leaving space for nuance.
It’s okay but tbh I could name five other currently airing anime that are better.
I’ve been super enjoying it! I usually watch most of the romance and SoL anime each simulcast season, and this one is easily one of the ones I most look forward to each week. It’s super cute and wholesome 🩷 The art and attention to the characters is also very high quality. It’s not super uncommon for anime is this space to have pretty stiff characters and designs, but this one is very colorful and vibrant… There’s like 5 or 6 others airing that I’m thinking about specifically - very engaging stories, but the art is kind of forgettable.
