I don’t eat McDonald’s because of its shitty business practices, but why does it matter if it’s real meat as long as the person eating it enjoys it? Also, they are actually 100% real beef, just basically a blend of different cuts merged into one.
They don’t grade the beef since it is a mix of different cuts and trimmings ground together. It meets USDA inspection standards and is safe for consumption. I have no idea how that compares to something like prison food (I assume it’s very similar), but while MDs and pet food can come from the same type of trimmings, there are different safety regulations required for each. Regardless, the grade of meat doesn’t mean that something is bad. Grading is based on fat marbling and maturity of the cow. Most off the shelf ground chuck is going to be of about the same quality. They use the same quality meat as most other fast food restaurants.
It’s certainly not everyone’s favorite, and to me it’s definitely not as good as a higher quality burger joint, but the beef itself isn’t dangerous, filled with non beef, or poisonous as has been claimed in the chat.
What point are you trying to make with that link? It reinforces most of what I said. It’s just a guide on how beef is graded. It further explains on certain cuts that grading shouldn’t be taken into consideration with leaner meats as marbling inherently isn’t there. Like I said, McD’s beef isn’t graded because it is a ground mix of different cuts. So what is the point that you’re trying to make here?
I’m disinterested in headbutting your apologia wall, friend. Fast food is purposefully made with as little real meat as possible, and for cheaply as possible.
The article does not support your claim aggrandizing McDonald’s, but you go on with that pulmonary fuckery you’re on your way to. I’m done with this “conversation”, but good chat. Good luck out there.
Are you upset that what I pointed out that your saying is factually wrong? Man, you softies on this thread really like to double down when you’re patently incorrect. Just take the L, admit you learned something new, and grow as a person.
This information is readily available for anyone to see. The size of the patties McD’s makes is tightly controlled at their factories. The beef is inspected by the the same groups that inspect all of the meat you consume in the US. Just because you don’t like McDonald’s doesn’t mean that your incorrect assumptions are correct. I don’t like McDonald’s, but I’m also not one to just sit back and spread false claims or watch someone spread bullshit that’s not true.
This hasn’t been a conversation. It’s been you spouting bullshit, linking an article that’s not at all relevant to your point, and then you getting butt hurt when I point that out.
It’s fucking pathetic how you can’t just say that you don’t like the product and/or company and also acknowledge that the product is controlled, inspected, and not poisonous for consumption. Defending facts does not mean I’m defending McDonald’s. It just happens that y’all are just spreading bullshit information about them that is very easily disputed.
I have had a couple sandwiches over the past few years since it’s often times the last option available for food in airports when it’s late. I used to eat it more when the dollar menu was still a thing. I’ve never once bought a mcdouble expecting something great. I think they have a fine taste, but it tastes like a 2 dollar burger. Now they’re also over priced on top of my other issues with the company.
I guess if the person eating McDonald’s loves to poison themselves with fake meat, then sure I guess it doesn’t matter as long as I’m not the one eating poison.
Maybe you missed the part where it is 100% real beef in their burgers. There is 0 evidence that any of it’s not real and all claims about it have been debunked. But if it weren’t, what do you think is in this made up fake meat that’s poisonous?
Haters gonna hate, but if you’re going to make bullshit claims, at least put some effort into it.
I don’t know why people feel the need to lie about things they don’t like.
And I’m not even saying they knew beforehand what they thought was wrong. But, when confronted with other information, they doubled down. As if some harder-core McDonald’s hater was going come along and mock them for conceding that one of their gripes with McDonald’s was mistaken.
But also, why would it matter if it had filler if it’s still enjoyable, and what would make that poison to eat? Poisoning one’s customer base can’t be good for business.
The poison part is easier to understand. Even history since the '80s is littered with declassification of company docs which shows they were aware their products caused harm and they kept pushing them, like climate change or asbestos.
If the meat was killing consumers, it would only really matter if it was a short enough timeline to implicate McDonald’s. If poison meat kills them 40 years in the future, they’re likely to have had children already and those new consumers can replace them. Obviously hyperbolic, but they (meaning “corporate execs”) don’t think like normal people. It’s a twisted calculus of short-term gain and “harm” is just a variable that is easy to differentiate out of the equation.
Oh, for sure. I think that there’s a distinction between poison and unhealthy even if it’s a fine line at times. In this case, the previous rumours about McDonald’s using filler was with other food products, not something genuinely toxic when consumed, in moderation. It’s like the aspertame scare saying it leads to cancer. It can if someone consumes an impossible amount of it, but in reality, it’s not dangerous.
Asbestos is a solid example like you mentioned and to an extent, the recent release of the 9/11 documents showing the lies about the dangers to people working at ground zero. Corps definitely lie to increase profits.

IIRC, it’s Grade D meat, which is below prison meat (and pet food, too?)
It’s been a while since I rabbitholed that one, and noped out after the adjacent revelations, NGL.

Your faith in the US’ legal system is doing a helluva lift there.
In case this helps clarify,, fellow anon. 💁🏼♂️

Lol
Lol. You must have avoided it for quite a while. Nothing there worth enjoying.
