VdL is as elected just as any prime minister in a regular parliamentary democracy. Her Commission can also be voted out of office anytime by the directly elected EP.

Also, if you believe public transportation is an argument against the EU, I have a bridge to sell to you. It basically is a good example of how the EU makes sense and it is not “the same ‘gouvernance’” for all levels.
