President Karol Nawrocki said he hopes the US will finalize plans to establish a permanent military base in Poland, to be called ‘Fort Trump.’

Nawrocki is confident that a decision is “just a question of time” and he’d like construction to be completed before President Donald Trump’s term ends.

The idea of a permanent US base was first floated by Nawrocki’s predecessor Andrzej Duda in 2018, and officials in Warsaw have redoubled their efforts to lock in a presence for US troops since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022
Don’t know about smart, but It’s the only way to get his attention. I don’t believe Poland get to name the base but suggesting it gets his attention. If they build it, I’d sure hope it’s will be finished after Trump’s term so the can reconsider the name. Having something named after Trump in Europe makes me puke.
Maybe a brave chunk of cholesterol will do the world a favor and it’ll be the Donald J. Trump Memorial Fort and Sewage Treatment Plant.
I don’t think Trump’s term will end in any other way than by his death, regardless of when that will happen, and then his successors will either name it after him in his memory, or will name it after themselves. So instead of Fort Trump, we might be getting a “J.D. Vance army barracks and couch emporium”, or, if the succession goes more the way of a hereditary monarchy, it’ll still be named after a Trump, just a different one.
He has two golf properties in Scotland and one in Ireland.
