Social media platform Meta has 48 hours to respond to claims by Brazil’s leftwing candidate and incumbent President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s campaign accusing the tech platform of blocking content on the company’s platforms. He wants his posts to actually show up on Facebook? I don’t really see that as regulating internet speech. Meta has meddled in tons of elections and I think it’s fair to complain about.

Running his own instance would be about the equivalent of just making their own website or blog. The point of social media is the dissemination to the public, and just having a Lemmy/whatever instance doesn’t accomplish that.
