I think it was mostly an excuse to post jokes, but some people do believe being repressed is a sign of a stronger person. Or that “self care” is bad in some way - most of that comes from the lingering religious shame many were brought up with.
Basically people who believe in pseudoscience about “retaining” being good for you (which is the opposite of what medical research has proved) and/or a sign of mental fortitude, nonsense like that.
To make matters worse, there’s a lot of overlap with “men’s rights” and other organized misogyny groups such as Proud Boys and toxic masculinity peddlers such as Andrew Tate and the like.
TL;DR: It’s silly at best, and deeply problematic if not downright harmful in many cases
Apparently, if you avoid doing a thing for a brief period of time, it is a demonstration of self-control and virtue. Thus, you are a better person and can nut, drink and eat uncontrollably for the entire rest of the year. I don’t personally believe in such practices. Do anything whenever you feel like it, but in moderation.
While self control, doing difficult things, and fasting are good things to do, this is a very different situation. No nut is an obsession for a chunk of the nebula of Right wing, Christian, white nationalist, and Incel communities. (For the people jumping to “not all”, shut up. You’re just in a different part of the Venn diagram or are disingenuous. Also you still suck.) Making it no nut November is the really toxic parts of the manosphere getting others to do stupid stuff and doing stupid performative stuff.
The amount of guesswork in the responses is astounding. NNN came up as cancer awareness, exactly the opposite of what some have commented, because not nutting for prolonged periods is bad for you.
Now, the step-on-me crowd running with it is a different story entirely, it’s just what they do.
I don’t know if that was NNN, that sounds more like movember where you grow a mustache for prostate cancer awareness.
It’s also a bit counterintuitive to do something for prostate cancer that raises your risk of said disease, since regular ejaculations have shown to be somewhat protective.
I think it started as No Shave November for prostate cancer awareness, then somewhere along the way the internet started memeing No Nut November the same way Dicks out for Harambe became a meme and then now supposedly it’s been co-opted by incels. No Shave November then changed to Movember, although they may be interchangeable. At least that’s the timeline I recall it happening.
I never really got the point of no nut November, anyone care to explain?
Used to be a joke playing off of “No Shave November” until parts of the internet took it with no irony, just like it always does.

It’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard but some peoplle swear by it. What ever floats your boat
Originated in the same country that invented cereals and crackers to discourage masturbation. Masturbation bad. Pedophilia and rape ok.
Already lost NNN just looking at that filthy, slutty neck.

I’m going to nut extra hard to counter those who refuse to.
Right wing puritan sex-scared propaganda campaign.
Incel shit.
Dang, they ruined that too?
All I can say is , it can be a lot of depraved hedonistic fun if combined with softdom/femdom content and preceeded by Loctober… Or so I’ve heard :P

Who would you like to moderate your nutting? /s
It’s all about precious bodily fluids, and the conservation thereof.
The Philosopher Kant thought losing any bodily fluid drained your life force.
Obviously he was a nut.
Making Thanksgiving really awkward
Making that turkey look sexy as fuck.

i have never heard of this. when was that?
You probably never heard of it because it didn’t happen. It was a joke on social media that snowballed, as memes tend to do.
