“Western order” to me means Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, East Timor, Iraq, Afghanistan, colonialism, the silent holocaust (the one in guatemala), Guantanamo bay, Pinochet, the genocide in Palestine, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Iran, etc. The author mentions “western order” as though it’s a good thing. It’s not. Not saying we should all ally with Putin, but I really don’t consider what we, the west, have done to the world a good thing.
That’s what bothers me about people calling him a ‘traitor’. A traitor to what? Global US imperialism? Massacres of school children, bombing weddings, hospitals? Long before Trump the US has been a murderous racist thug stalking the earth like a demon.
Not a lot of people learn that kind of history. I’m meeting gen z kids who barely know Iraq even happened. One million dead, based on a lie, and it takes one generation to completely forget it.
