LIDAR is radar with lasers. You’re not using it to blind anyone. It’s a way of detecting the physical space around the sensor with a very high degree of accuracy, especially when it comes to distance.
shrug the only thing I have that employs lidar (afaik) is my vacuum robot, which has a warning to not look at the turret at ground level while it’s in motion
This sounds like lidar with extra steps
