Thanks for creating this & I hope it takes off! Here is my cocktail from the June contest on r/cocktails. The cheong is syrup made by slicing up grapefruit, skin and all, then layering it in a jar with sugar, shake daily for a few days then strain out the liquid, that’s it.
Hi. It seems more likely that we’ll actually be moving to https://squabbles.io/s/cocktails. Lemmy is nice, but suffers from some issues with GDPR non-compliance that just rub me the wrong way.
Would you mind handing over the community to another mod then, if you don’t plan to be active here?
I grabbed this community pending a decision from the mods of /r/Cocktails on where to go. It’s still very much possible that we end up here. I just think it’s more likely that we’ll end up on Squabbles.
If we don’t end up using Lemmy, then I’d be happy to hand control over to someone else. Please just give it a few weeks as we sort things out.
Can you at least add another moderator who’s willing to moderate then so this community can grow in the meantime? Right now you’re just squatting here to advertise a different community.
I resigned from my reddit moderating and would be happy to help out here if you want.
I’d be happy to moderate too, but it depends entirely on the one person who’s gatekeeping access to the community.
Please let me know your Reddit username. I’ll choose one of you to moderate here on a temporary basis based on who has a more positive history with /r/Cocktails.
If the mods of /r/Cocktails choose to move to Lemmy, then we’ll discuss whether to make that position permanent. If we do not move to Lemmy, I will fully cede control.

Oh no! I am parked here for now, really do miss that cocktail thread. But heading into my Dry July, will save the link & also see if one grows here. I do like the wild west environment here a lot but yeah sure with the exponential growth there will be some hiccups.
