CNN Max is likely to evolve over time. Among the features the company will try out are ways of alerting Max viewers to breaking news while they are watching something else on the service, whether it be an HBO series, a Turner Classic Movies selection or an old episode of Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

Unfortunately something like “Biden’s college ex-roomate’s best friend’s cousin was caught on camera saying a bad word!” constitutes “Breaking News” for CNN.
Honestly, I don’t care if the news is that WW3 has broken out. Don’t push notifications on me while I’m watching streaming media. I have my own ways of finding out the news.
I do, but you don’t need CNN to do that. There are already emergency alerting systems to inform you if you need to head to cover.
