minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink7•1 year agoNot sure how it is in the US, but I had to arrange a funeral in the UK this year and my only point of contact was the funeral director, I never even saw a mortician or anyone like that.

Embalming isn’t a common thing in Europe as far as I know. We don’t put the dead on display like they seem to do in the US.
At least in the US, funeral directors are often also embalmers.
