In practical terms, a FFF strike is a regular, orderly, peaceful, announced demonstration, free and safe for everyone to participate. If your country supports these citizens rights, of course.
Very well! Sunny weather, much more people than expected, good speeches, funny posters, amazing bands, no serious incidents. Now all that’s missing is politics listening to the scientist.
There’s basically no chance of Mars ever being more habitable then Earth, the atmosphere is 100x thinner there. Like even in the worst climate change scenario you can imagine we’d still be better off living here.
Who cares? Mars is nightmarish and those resources are better spent saving Earth.

You know you also need other infrastructure for people to live there.
And you need to get all of that to mars.
And you need to keep up the logistics between two different planets, it’s not just send one or two payloads and you’re done.

Eventually, either through choice or because of climate change, we’ll go up. And this work is important for that.
However harsh and hostile Earth can become due to climate change. Rest assured, Mars is harsher and more hostile.
Whatever terraforming efforts we put into Mars to change that, would be easier, cheaper and more effective put into Earth.
Other factors favor Earth over Mars which are entirely unaffected by climate change:
There literally is no planet B. Also, tomorrow (15th Sept) is another FFF strike (on Earth).

I disagree that Martian colonization in inevitable. I’d like to see it, but I’d also like to end poverty.
If we can prioritize sustainability research and development by calling it a Mars mission I’m not inherently opposed.
