Last I heard, the answer is no, with the reason being that Google started getting really flaky about whether or not they were cool with developers offering multiple versions of their apps.
Sync for Reddit got away with it because it was originally made before there was ever an option for in-app purchases in the first place. But now I think the dev is looking to avoid running afoul of Google’s really nebulous policies and is sticking with the one app which has had support for IAPs from the beginning now.
