Meanwhile, it keeps DeSantis alive longer, which creates turmoil in the GOP as allegiances are divided. And Gavin wants to raise his own profile so that people know who he is and he can skip the introductions should Harris need to pick a VP in the near future.

I know. He’s got more support than trump in some states, it seems. However, his campaign is floundering and he’s losing ground not making it. He’s not a real candidate any more. If he has charisma and ideas, perhaps it could turn around as people learn who he is. He has the opposite effect.
I think he’s hoping to stay in it long enough for Trump to be forced out by legal problems. But I don’t think Trump supporters will flock to DeSantis, I think they will dissipate across all the other turds still floating in the bowl, or they will just stay home.
