    Sadly (Or fortunately, if you think about it) that seems to just not be how people work.

    All people will, as highly social creatures, form groups and identities around those groups.

      Identifying around inherent traits is not something that always has to happen. Furthermore, tying yourself to traits whether inherent or not will make people very defensive of any criticism of anything relating to that

        How’d you get that out of my answer is beyond me.

        The point is that people will join identity based social groups no matter what and they need better identities to form those groups around.

        Identifying around inherent traits is not something that always has to happen. Furthermore, tying yourself to traits whether inherent or not will make people very defensive of any criticism of anything relating to that

        It doesn’t need to be an inherent group, just an identity.
