Funny how your comments are both downvoted despite you two being the only ones in the thread.

I guess the dow voters don’t have any response for you

Oh there is plenty of responses. But none that will survive the censorship of an echo chamber to be.

Tell you what, you can make all the troll comments you want, but no troll posts. Feel free to make good faith posts.

And its not like lemmy isn’t a big echochamber in of itself. Even if you discount lemmygrad and hexbear, lemmy is still very left wing.

Define “troll posts”. Because that sounds pretty arbitrary.

And its not like lemmy isn’t a big echochamber in of itself.

Nobody is stopping you from going to c/politics and saying conservative things.

Anything that belongs on /poltics, posting liberal things. As a general and imperfect guide is anti-gun, pro-islsamic-terrorism (Hamas is included as islamic terrorism after they killed 1300 people), pro-trans-kids, and stuff like that.

A good faith post would align with conservative values. pro-gun, anti-islamic-terrorism, anti-trans-kids, and stuff like that.

I realize that its western centric, but thats what comes to mind.

Nobody is stopping you from going to c/politics and saying conservative things.

The problem is right wing posts getting buried under left wing posts. Having a dedicated space for them makes sense. Its a bit like having /c/starfield when /c/gaming exists, if that comparison makes sense.

Incidentally, buried posts is why I’m leaving the community on .world.

              Liberals are not supporting Hamas.

Would you prefer leftists? I feel like playing the label game is counter-productive.

Doesn’t change the fact that either way it isn’t true, nobody is supporting Hamas.

So people are only honest when they agree with you? That’s a terrible test for honesty.

Its a bit like having /c/starfield when /c/gaming exists, if that comparison makes sense.

While the comparison does make sense, it ignores the damage caused by branching off to create a new echo chamber.

More like this community is for certain kinds of posts. Like a cats community banning dog posts, for example. Posting dog posts in a cats community and acting like they belong isn’t done in good faith. Ignorance maybe, but you don’t strick me as ignorant.

And what damage? The old community was overrun with off topic/bad faith/troll/whatever-it-is posts. Not to mention completely abandoned by the mods.

But this isn’t just a simple fan subreddit for animals. It’s a place that influences votes, and therefore is subject to the dangers of echo chambers.

                  And what damage?

Echo chambers increase extremism, polarization, and can otherwise negatively effect people.

I don’t think we’re in any danger of right wing extremism on lemmy.

                Lol, listen to your sophistry.

Try even disagreeing with anything on communist/socialist/hexbear, etc community and see how fast you get banned.

Nothing progressives are hypocritical at every turn.

If you can’t go two seconds without going to whataboutism, then you have no room to complain about sophistry.

I don’t think those leftist communities should be echo chambers either.

        It’s all they have.

Rule of law, principles, ethics, values beyond their own narcissism means nothing to them.

All that matters is the ends. Whatever it takes, is justifiable. Remember, gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette. That’s their motto.

So here’s the thing man. I’m coming back here later because I wanted to find this thread. I’m still seeing all my comments go to zero. A few manage to escape and grow before getting that downvote, but most are being squashed.

Someone has decided to silence me, to the degree they can.

I can’t handle this. I’m alone in life. Discussion of this type is my connection to the world. I need people who will be my friends and listen to me despite the bias people put against comments at zero.

So I’m coming back here to find people who will listen to me, and to support this place. I want to punish the person who’s doing this to me and I don’t know who they are but I know what they value.

I know they want to silence this place, and that I’m acceptable damage in their war against this place, and that is why I’m coming back here.

I’m gonna participate here, because I need a place to belong and because I want to contribute to the opposite of whoever it is trying to squash me.
