Funny thing is the game works with ultra wide actually and is basically natively ultra wide but the devs added black bars to the sides of the screen for reasons I cannot begin to comprehend. I know this because my game has glitched a couple times so that those bars disappeared but they’ll always show up again eventually

I don’t get Japanese games doing stuff like this, is it pride? Is it stubborness? I guarantee you, no one outside of Japan cares, let my game take up my whole screen and give a damn pause button.

From Soft’s new game Armored Core natively supports ultra wide. So it’s not that.

Was wild to me how much lower the minimums are for Baldur’s Gate when it came out ~18 months later. You’d think as a dev you’d just want people to play your game, and that if it’s a little less pretty for some people, that’s okay.

Sorry, I must’ve misunderstood. I was more just agreeing with the devs being assholes. I have a 1080 and don’t care enough about raytracing to upgrade. Elden Ring, with its 1070 minimum req, made me think I’d have to upgrade sooner than later. But then Baldur’s Gate will work on a 900 series. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think they’re just not used to PC setups tbh. The Dark Souls games are famously much worse on PC than console.
