The Biden administration requested Israel detail the thinking and process behind the recent strike on the Jabalia Refugee Camp in Northern Gaza, according to a U.S. official, who like others was granted anonymity to discuss sensitive conversations.

“The U.S. asked for an explanation of the first [attack] on Jabalia,” said the official, adding that the conversation was in the context of “asking Israel to do more to avoid civilian casualties.”

No he didn’t, what evidence do you have to support Bibi claimed that? He’s a corrupt ass, but he’s not that evil and stupid.

Ah, my apologies, you’re correct. It wasn’t Bibi, it was the Ministry of Intelligence that recommended forcibly expelling the population of Gaza to Egypt.

How is anything written there equal to ethnic cleansing?

Can we stop muddying the meaning of that very serious term?

          From wikipedia:

Ethnic cleansing is the systematic forced removal of ethnic, racial, and religious groups from a given area, with the intent of making a region ethnically homogeneous. Along with direct removal, extermination, deportation or population transfer, it also includes indirect methods aimed at forced migration by coercing the victim group to flee and preventing its return, such as murder, rape, and property destruction.

How is what they’re proposing not ethnic cleansing? The entire point of Israel is to be a Jewish ethno-state, they’re proposing forcibly kicking out all the Gazans, and if you think that wouldn’t be immediately followed up by a flood of Zionists taking over the newly vacant land and Israel annexing it I honestly don’t know what to say to you that wouldn’t be insulting in some manner.

It is actually just a proposal without any weight, which might not even be considered at all by any acting part of government - despite it’s name, that office usually has very little political power and does nothing but prepare documents and research.

First, Gazans are not living in Israel and are not citizens of Israel. So they are not proposing kicking Gazans “out of Israel” (unless that land is annexed but currently, nobody wants that).

Second, my bad, I was thinking about genocide as the main means of ethnic cleansing - like Hamas wants - and was wrong about the full definition because of my limited association.

However, that’s still not ethnic cleansing, since the intent here is not to make the region ethnically homogeneous. The intent is to make the region safe, to deny the possibility of Oct 7 repeating itself. So it is not ethnic cleansing.

And unrelated to the conflict: the entire point of Israel is to have a safe place for Jews, not to be an ethno-state. And you can see how many people around the world showed their true anti-Semitic faces, and how much its existence is being justified sadly.
