In Acts 1, Jesus’ disciples were like “hey so you’re resurrected now, so is it time for the revolution to overthrow Rome now?”
And Jesus said basically, “no, that’s not up to you. Your job is to just keep doing what I’ve been doing—feeding the poor, uplifting the oppressed, kicking over the tables of those who try to make money off of worship—but for your city, and your country, and for those people you hate, and for everyone in the world.”
