My brother in Christ, it’s been a full blown attack since Murdoch and AM Radio started smearing real journalists as fake news and those same last bastions of journalism have fallen to the mighty 1% ownership. The erosion of the legit press with negative engagement drivers and the “news entertainment” made up facts (propaganda by another name) have been going on for nearly 3 decades.
Calling for fake investigations is just a nail in the coffin. The grave has already been dug.
