Abortion clinics have asked judge to block ban after amendment to state constitution was passed enshrining right to procedure

The Ohio supreme court has dismissed the state’s challenge to a judge’s order that has blocked enforcement of Ohio’s near ban on abortions for the past 14 months.

The ruling moves action in the case back to the Hamilton county common pleas court, where abortion clinics asked Judge Christian Jenkins this week to throw out the law following voters’ decision to approve enshrining abortion rights in the state constitution.

If you’re surprised, you may not actively follow Ohio politics and the Republicans ignoring their own rules and the rule of law to get what they want.

That seems to be a Republican thing. Remember that whole Rage Against the Machine nonsense?

I’m not sure if it’s just total lack of self-awareness/thinking the stuff the song is about are good things for some reason, or if they just aren’t listening to the lyrics.

Ok yeah fair. They have gotten away with ignoring a gerrymandering ban, attempted to immediately overturn the marijuana legalization and have been trying to raise its tax and give it all to police who’d just blow it on tanks and training on how to hate citizens and get away with killing us.

Who cares what Ohioans want, it’s not like we get a say in who is in our legislature
