    It’s not theft if the installation is vandalism to begin with. And I’m not disparaging Banksy. His art is literally “counterculture street graffiti” for the most part. It literally goes against Banksys own message to arrest someone for tampering with his street art.

          It’s illegal to vandalise too, but there’s no police effort on that front if your name is banksy.

            Shittt. Stop signs are really only used at very dangerous junctions in the UK removing it could easily cause a car crash.

            Yeah, not sure why he thought he could get away with it. Presumably the sign is property of the city or the department of transportation then?

        And so is vandalizing one. But no one’s trying to arrest Banksy. That’s my point. Now it’s suddenly a crime.

          Isn’t anyone trying to arrest Banksy? Isn’t that why his identity is kept secret?
