Today, we want to inform everyone that we have decided to defederate from https://exploding-heads.com/. We understand that defederating should always be a last resort, and individuals can certainly block communities. However, blocking alone does not prevent potential harm to vulnerable communities.
After carefully reviewing the instance, reported posts, and multiple comments from the community, we have concluded that exploding-heads is not adhering to the Lemmy or Citizen Code of Conduct. Therefore, we cannot, in good faith, continue to federate with an instance that consistently promotes hate, racism, and bullying.

Again, deciding to defederate from an instance is not taken lightly. In the future, we will continue to review instances on a case-by-case bases.
As for our community, please refrain from posting or commenting with hateful words as well. Arguing back and calling people names is not the solution. The best course of action is to report the posts or comments violating our server rules.

I’m guessing you are white, as am I btw, and we wouldn’t just be considered a minority, we would actually belong to a minority in those places.
So in those places, protection of minorities would actually protect us against discrimination.
But generally whites in those areas are richer than average, and if you are rich, you don’t need as much protection against racism.

Most rich jews fled to other countries, that was much harder if you were poor.
Also the persecution of Jews in Germany, was a very special case, with 500 years of history.
I didn’t say you would never need protection if you are rich, but you stand a way better chance against discrimination if you are.

As I wrote earlier, racism is mostly a tribal behavior, and there are lots of ways to grow as a society above that. Regarding racism, it’s a simple matter of inclusion instead of exclusion. Allowing racism makes it worse. Preventing it makes it better. That is very obvious and perfectly in line with the nature of racism.
There are many other ways to satisfy this specific type of tribal behavior, a very common one is sports, local regional and international.
Just because it’s human nature, doesn’t mean we should allow it. If that was so, rape would be perfectly legal, and no normal man would think that should be so. If you do, I guess we have nothing further to talk about.
