When I’m driving with the phone is a dashboard mount, everything else on the phone is super slow and laggy. To the point where if something doesn’t work via voice control, I’m afraid to do it manually like when stopped at a red light, in case I can’t switch back to navigation before I need to make a turn. Google Maps on OnePlus 9 w sd888.
Is there in existence yet a phone that’s fast enough for task switching while navigating? Is it just Google maps being a resource hog? Is there a better app?
I haven’t had any issues since my Droid X. But that’s probably because once I’m navigating I don’t do anything else with my phone. Maybe make sure you don’t have anything running in the background and make sure you don’t have battery saving enabled.
What are you trying to do with your phone while using it for navigation?
Usually nothing but every now and then something will come up. Like when it connects to the car Bluetooth a d the car says “play media!” usually it’ll open a sensible playlist in my music streaming app, but occasionally it’ll pick something stupid like a video from a webpage in chrome.
