A write-in campaign for President Joe Biden won the New Hampshire Democratic primary Tuesday, after the state was stripped of its delegates by the Democratic National Committee.

Voters who wrote in Biden’s name beat out Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) and self-help author Marianne Williamson, according to three news networks, with early counts of unprocessed write-in ballots outnumbering votes for Phillips by a more-than-three-to-one margin.

I’m no republican, but I don’t understand why any party should have any say over when a state holds it’s primary

    Usually the state party decides.

NH is weird because they have a state law saying their primary is first.

The NH state Dem party can’t just ignore that law, even though Biden and the DNC told them too.

And the Republicans with the power to change that law, had zero reason to do so.

So there was absolutely nothing the state party could do.

And if the DNC and Biden didn’t understand that very basic part of our political process… It’s pretty fucking concerning they’re the only thing standing between America and Trump’s second term.

Like, either they have no idea what they’re doing. Or they just ordered a state party to ignore state law to help Biden in a primary election the DNC doesn’t even have to acknowledge the result and Biden has a 99.9999% chance of winning anyways.

There’s just no rational reasoning to explain the DNCs actions. They had zero to gain by doing this.

Except their words in court a few years ago when they said primaries are performative and don’t matter. It seems like they’re getting closer and closer to just appointing someone and telling voters to deal with it.

Which is fucking frightening because they’re the only option besides Republicans and this is going to hurt turnout in the general.

To be clear, they’re still less fascist than Republicans…

More concerning is they seem happy to watch the Republican party become more fascist, because that allows them to also become more anti-democratic.

As long as they’re slightly to the left, they seem to have zero qualms about how facist they act.

It’s almost like they want to be fascist themselves and are gladly standing by.

Which is why not criticizing them just because they’re still better than Republicans isn’t working.

We need to do what we’ve been telling Republicans voters for decades:

Hold your own politicians to higher standards.

Are they? The Republican primary is pretty freaking open. There’s a sizable amount of Republicans that don’t want Trump, but they aren’t changing rules to make him lose like the Democrats did with Bernie. There’s definitely incompetence that no candidate could be put forth to oppose Trump, that wasn’t just a different color Trump.

I don’t think y’all are disagreeing much, though there is clearly a difference between Biden and Trump, that doesn’t excuse the DNC for actively disenfranchising progressive voters.
