minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink3•edit-28 months agoI think sanity or Insanity is linked to being mentally abnormal, not normal, while this disappointing behavior and state of mind is pretty normal. I don’t consider racism abnormal since it’s so common, or a mental illness; racism is a frightened, prejudiced reaction to differences. Offensive and unwelcome, but very common in a normal state of mind. I guess you could say the rant was insane, because he doesn’t seem to understand the consequences of being so openly racist. But it isn’t like you have to be in a mental institution to hear a racist rant.
I wouldn’t say it’s insane for a republican to be racist. Obviously racist? Sure. But not insane.
Something being expected does not make it sane.
