But entrepreneur-landlords are the backbone of the American economy! Did I say backbone? I meant bone-cancer.

Did you read the article? I have sympathy for this particular landlord. He’s in deep shit for offering shelter to fellow migrants the system has clearly failed.

I did and beyond just the shelter, the lack of ventilation and proper plumbing. I don’t think you’re saying that this landlord should be hailed as a hero, but I’m also not saying that he should be condemned. You’re right, he tried his best and failed, but my point was more about the other landlords in New York. The actual residential ones who would rather take a loss and get a tax break than even temporarily keep one victimized human out of the elements.

There is sooooooo much available housing in our damn country and people are dying on the streets because the one landlord trying to do anything is a criminal and the ones who help build the problem are entrepreneurs.

If more landlords gave desperate people places to sleep, maybe they wouldn’t be as bad.

I didn’t say good, I said not as bad.

And giving anyone who needs it a home is a great start.

Agreed, but giving a home because you have extras usually implies you’re a societal leach.
