Unlike here where it’s all embittered middle children in their 40s in their mom’s basement

lol the dig at middle children got me. I don’t even know what it insinuates but it feels delightfully petty.

Middle children are stereotyped as overlooked. (And desperate for attention but not getting any.)

Which is ridiculous! As an oldest child, I know that my little brother didn’t have any needs like my little sister or I did. Every few weeks, there’d be a door slam or a yelled, “WHY DOESN’T ANYONE PAY ATTENTION TO ME!?”, which let us know he was still alive and obviously thriving if he had enough energy to make so much noise.

Well shit, as the oldest that just makes me want to give them that attention. Is that a stereotype too?

I’m the youngest sibling now. Please direct all defense requests to my older sibling.

Older siblings are either righteous defenders of the downtrodden or attention hogs blinded by the limelight.

Ah, understood. Unfortunately I dislike attention and am wicked, and therefore must apply for reassignment.

Excellent, I will notify my bother that I am the younger sibling now.

Update: he accepted the role of eldest and agreed to fight my battles for me.

I thought the stereotype was that we beat the shit out of the younger siblings. Gotta keep those lil shits in line.

You beat them up, and protect them from smaller predators, as they’re your punching bag and no one else’s.

It didn’t work for me, mine was younger enough that beating up his bullies would send me to prison. All I got to do was call him names, and that’s only half the fun.

Hey it’s like Russian military! They have a very strict beating order
