minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink63•9 months agoI see at least two problems here: Don’t pull on the cable, pull on the plug. Use EU power sockets, it is safer, more like :q! when existing vim and unsaved changed you made to the file are lost for sure.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish35•9 months agoAh yes, I’ll just replace all my power sockets, get rid of all my electronics, and only buy imported European electronics from now on. It’s so obvious, why didn’t I think of it before. Oh yeah, and rewire my whole house to 240 V. Easy peasy.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink9•9 months agoTo be fair, switching to 240v is pretty easy, just move the neutral to a hot leg in the fuse box.
minus-square@bitwabalink12•9 months agoWouldn’t that hot leg need to be 180 degrees out of phase with the other?
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink17•edit-29 months agoYes but I was’t trying to write a book this morning.
minus-square@Bgugilink1•9 months agoI’m no electricityologist, but wouldn’t that make half your circuits 240V and the other half deadly 0V?

minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink25•9 months agoThat’s how you brexit vim tho. Takes years to complete, no coming back and bricks everything else in the process.

minus-square@Aceticonlink1•9 months agoThe UK plugs, on the other hand, are the only shape of plug known to man that when it’s left on the ground the pins always end up turned up, ready and eager to receive any feet not suitably protected by a hard shoe sole.
minus-squarePhuntislinkfedilinkEnglish1•edit-29 months agopeople say this and yeah it is kinda true but honestly who just leaves plugs on the floor who is this an issue for the plug is in the wall
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink4•9 months agoInstructions unclear, electrocuted while replacing outlets.
minus-square@Potatos_are_not_friendslink3•edit-29 months agoSee, that’s why I just flip the circuit breakers to ensure a successful exit
