I’m confused - is OP suggesting that the Conservatives will be better than Liberals??

If so, I’m in the upside-down world again

Might want to try the grammar on that again, Tex. I’ve been a liberal and have voted for Democrats since Carter, so don’t lecture me about US politics, especially as you can’t make a clear claim yourself.

Liberals = Center right to right wing people pretending to be center left to center.

People who are to the left of liberals = people who are ACTUALLY left wing.

Just because you don’t understand doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong with my grammar.

Likewise, having been part of the tribe for a long time doesn’t make you an expert on what’s to the left of it, “Tex” 🙄

What “clear claim” are you even referring to? You’re being very vague for someone accusing someone else of not being clear.

Just because you want to make up new definitions doesn’t mean yours are right either, bucko.

The US is primarily centrist. Always has been. There’s liberal and conservative voices in that center as well. Then you have voices like progressives and arch-conservatives, pulling more to either side.

Your definition is a clear attempt to just muddy the waters by lying about who actually wants what.

I’m not making up anything. You’re entitled to your own opinions, not your own facts. The facts are that Neoliberalism, which has been the dominant ideology of the Democratic Party ever since Clinton in 1992, is a center-right to right wing ideology that’s closely allied with billionaires and their corporations.

The US is primarily centrist. Always has been

Nope. The ruling class and their billionaire-owned mass media are, but not the people in general.

                  • The most popular politician in the US is Bernie Sanders.

                  • The majority of the population want universal single payer healthcare,

                  • More people than not agree that ACAB and that billionaires shouldn’t exist

                  • Most people agree that Israel is committing a genocide and that the US shouldn’t be supplying the bombs, targeting systems and other weapons that they’re using to do so.

Those are all majority opinions of the population in general which are to the left of your beloved centrist political establishment

Your definition is a clear attempt to just muddy the waters by lying about who actually wants what.

That’s fucking rich coming from a centrist/center right liberal pretending to speak for the majority rather than the privileged few and/or that the Dem leadership is on the side of the people 🙄

                    That’s fucking rich…

It certainly is. You forget what party has tried to push single-payer healthcare, unions, higher taxes for the rich and diplomatic solutions to world issues…like, for decades. But it’s either the republicans and their block voting blocking anything or those who want everything now and no smaller steps will suffice (whether large swaths of the country support or even understand it). It’s all or nothing, and you’re still surprised that when you don’t support any efforts, you get nothing.

Your hate does not make you stronger. It just makes you blind.

I’m done with this ridiculous debate. G’bye and good luck to you.

Liberals are a pro-coroporation, big business backed left wing that is still very much an authoritarian flavor of left. When zoomed out, liberal is more like center right and the entire conversation is about how conservative we are. The fact is that there are other left wing politics and, for example, progressives would not stand for genocide. The more right wing you go the more supporting killing civilians that are literally trying to get food to survive is okay, until you get to full authoritarian which justified why it is okay to continue killing. That’s where Israel is right now. That’s why so many people are upset.

Hopefully that clears up any confusion.

If you think for a moment that just invading another country is a possibility, you’re insane. That would only make Netanyahu stronger; the goal is to weaken him and the entire right-wing of their government, and you can’t do that by invasion, or by cutting them off arbitrarily (that would cripple the US government).

Simplistic ideas don’t solve difficult problems. Hope that clears up any confusion.

Have you not been watching the House or Senate for the past 30 years? ANY political advantage is a tool, especially for the Republicans since they LOVE defunding parts of the the government they see as in the way (IRS, for example). Look at Moscow Marjorie and how shes happy to break the system until they get what they want (money for Israel if Ukraine gets it).

      1. Conservatives are liberals. Both US parties are liberal. The opposite of conservative isn’t liberal, it’s progressive.

      2. The tweet does not imply that at all.

In america, liberal means “more left wing” and conservative means “more right wing”. You can talk about how far left or right people are but please can we avoid another pedantic circular talk about how Americans use the labels incorrectly?

Often people like OP will suggest that liberals and conservatives differ in no way that matters. Which makes sense if you’re an ignorant moron with no idea what views or actions the two sides actually hold and take.

      But…but corporate money!

Yeah okay fine there’s a corrupt system and a lot of Democrats aren’t great. Which btw is a huge leap to “they’re all the same”. Also politicians are not the same as regular citizens.

No one who is actually aligned with “liberal” ideas would’ve ever said anything like “it’s great the police beat you to a fine red paste for protesting”

Disingenuous bullshit like this post is incredibly counterproductive and even if it weren’t, it is spreading lies. Fuck this piece of shit post.

Sarcasm is notoriously difficult to determine in text, as you well may know, hence the popular use of /s to denote that.

Then again, either you completely forget that this is the world wide web, not AOL-Online, and not everyone understanding and use of speech is the same, or you’re fully aware of that and are going in for a double-dip, for shits and giggles.

                You tell me. /s
