Why? I have no reason for my phone screen to be on while it’s in my pocket

I know, my phone has this feature and I think it’s pointless. Why do I need my screen to be on if I’m not using my phone?

For sure. This is why I keep my phone plugged in on a stand, usually in do not disturb with only a clock when it is locked. It is, indeed, a clock.
