You could try 15 FPS and I bet it would look exactly the same, this industry is just rotten. The insatiable search for higher and higher FPS counts is just nonsensical smh

I’d argue that 45fps should be the norm. Anything much higher than 60 and the average person doesn’t gain anything from it. Anything lower is tough for some people to deal with. 45 is a good middle ground, I think.

Unless you make your living playing competitive games, you don’t need 573830575fps.

EDIT: Refined my statement to make more sense. 5am brain didn’t realize it needed to go back to bed before making comments.

I am very confused about your use of the word ‘minimum’, in combination with the rest of your message

Yeah, did op mean maximum or somethin ? But even that wouldn’t make sense as they said bare minimum

Yeah, sorry. Early morning brain needed more sleep before making comments. I refined my original comment to make more sense.

Personally I’d agree that 45 is the minimum, but I do feel the difference at higher FPS up to 80-90 or so.

I’d agree that anything above that is only markedly different for eSport athletes and hummingbirds, though 😁

Dunno, are you absolutely certain that you’re 0% hummingbird?

I dunno but I really was chasing after that pixel response time. The more accurate the pixel draw and the lower the latency the less of a headache I get from playing games. I’m incredibly happy with my OLED though big upgrade from an IPS.

I thought the va panel looked a little nicer but made me real sick feeling with the pixel overshooting and the trails every time the camera moved. Smooth scrolling text in some cases were really tough too on VA.

Don’t feel high FPS to be a wasted effort.
Here, just scrolling through this page, I can feel the difference between 60FPS and 100FPS.

I can scroll much faster while also being able to read it. On the 60FPS monitor, I just prefer to alternate between scrolling and reading.

Yeah it’s definitely easier to skim text while scrolling. It’s a lot less jittery for sure.

Their comment was tongue-in-cheek, I’m pretty sure.

Yes, higher FPS absolutely results in better motion clarity. In particular, 15 FPS is so low that it’s likely to be perceived as individual pictures rather than continuous motion.
