Representative Marjorie Taylor Greenewas booed on the House floor Wednesday afternoon by Republicans and Democrats after bringing forward her motion to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson.

The Republican Georgia congresswoman has put pressure on Johnson in recent weeks, although many lawmakers in her own party have dismissed her efforts to vacate the speaker’s chair.

It is unclear which House members booed Greene’s motion on Wednesday, although Georgia congresswoman shot back at the heckling, saying, “This is the uniparty, for the American people watching.”

I looked up the 2022 election:

Greene ran for re-election after winning a legal challenge to her eligibility based on her alleged involvement in organizing and promoting the 2021 United States Capitol attack, based on the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which bars people who have engaged in insurrection from serving in Congress. While Greene won by a comfortable margin, this was the worst showing ever by a Republican in the 14th district, and the best performance of a Democrat in this district, being the first time since the district was created that the Democrat received more than 28% of the vote.

If you’re asking about the primary, there aren’t any numbers on the wiki page (and I’m too lazy to go looking for any more), but it lists the following people who lost the republican primary to her:

      Eric Cunningham, sales executive
      James Haygood, farmer
      Charles Lutin, physician and veteran
Jennifer Strahan, CEO of J. Osley & Co.
      Seth Synstelien, educator

At least a couple of those sound a bit more impressive than part-time crossfit coach and full time conspiracy theorist whackadoo. I’m guessing the first time she got in was riding the MAGA reality denial wave, and the second time was mostly because of name recognition. Maybe she’ll run out of steam for this election, considering the reception by her own party in relation to the above OP.

Incredible thank you. She is a complete goober but her brand is huge now so maybe she’s in for life like George Harrison and the guy who’s dying on TV and looks like a turtle

Her district. She has no competition, they’d never vote someone with a D next to their name and they’re into her shtick.
