Insane actually, US is something like 630/100k and they’re the second highest with like 330 million more people in their total population and 20% of the world’s prison population. El Salvador is almost doubling that per capita.
1 in every 92 people? Is that right? That seems crazy.
They had a civil war not so long ago and have had major issues with violent gangs in recent decades.
The US is #2. What is their excuse?
Racism and a complete abhorrence of poor people.
