    Even in the 24th century AGI doesn’t understand context. OBVIOUSLY “too hot” would mean “beyond operational temperature”, or if that has not been defined “within a temperature range where the material will lose structural strength”.

    Yes, the above is funny. Doesn’t mean I can’t be a pedantic nerd about it.

      In that episode, is she not testing some experimental shield built by some ferengi? The computer probably doesn’t know where she wants to stop the experiment. If the shield fails, the shuttle, and the materials it is built of, probably goes poof instantly anyways.

          See… this is why I had trouble buying that Jack is Jean-Luc’s father. Picard is not a candle.

    The real problem here is the lack of personal settings. The computer should remember how Picard likes his tea without him having to specify it every time.
