The SilencerCo Maxim 9 is an integrally suppressed 9mm handgun that operates on a proprietary delayed blowback system. They call it a delayed wing system, similar to a roller delayed system. (Part 90 is the wing)
At the time of the Maxim Vice debut, the initial Maxim 9 prototypes were built on a highly modified Smith & Wesson M&P frame and slide. The final version now features a proprietary frame and slide, but utilizes Glock magazines. The pistol also sports an optics plate for micro red dot mounting options.

Can anyone quantify how quiet this thing actually is? Seeing him firing it in the Forgotten Weapons video it sounds like he’s using a hand staple gun, but I know that videos can be bad at giving a realistic sense of such a thing.
Tldr ~137 Db, it wouldn’t hurt your ears but you’d absolutely notice it. Fairly in line with a normal pistol with a normal suppressor.
It depends on a number of things like where you are measuring from and how many baffles you have on (because you can use fewer if you wish). Brievity and tone can play a role in how we perceive sound too. Also keep in mind decibels aren’t measured on a linear scale.
But I’m not an audio engineer so maybe someone can explain that bit better.
Did they release the blue color, or just as a promotional model?
I think that might just be the lighting hitting the cerakote. Looks like it was only released in a black cerakote finish.
