Somehow I don’t understand electricity generation with oil. I have a normal oil well and transport the oil to a refinery 8m higher. However, not enough oil arrives there, even though the oil pump has a delivery height of 10m.

I have now installed a pipeline pump at approx. 4m, with the result that the previous 0.6m³ in the pipeline became 0. If I remove this pump, the content of the pipeline suddenly increases to 27m³ and the refinery starts working. and yes, the pump was pointing in the right direction.

The next problem is the fuel generators. I have 4 in a tower on the lower floor working. The supply seems to be sufficient. I now have build another 4 generators on the floor above the first floor, these again don’t get any fuel, even though I have installed an mk2 pump directly at the bottom at the start of the riser pipe. The second floor is 8 walls higher above the first floor. This pump supposedly pumps up to 50m, but in the pump settings I only see a maximum height of 4m. Why?

I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. Where should I place the pipeline pumps? Should I use more refinerys? Or what’s the secret here?

I’m not quite sure what your problem is, besides maybe quantity, but I don’t remember how much you can get out of a single well. However, if I’ve understood correctly, the pump resets the previous ‘delivery height’ the pipeline has and starts always from 0, so placing two mk2 pumps right next to eachother you’ll still get only 50m. The dial in settings shows how high the pump currently pushes stuff, so if you have a pump on a level ground it’ll always show zero.

I know there’s been a bug which caused some pipes to be disconnected from previous one on some cases and rebuilding pipeline will fix that, but I’m not sure if that’s fixed already. Additionally when you start the system it’ll take a while for reservoirs in generators/refineries to fill up, so immediately after connecting everything you won’t get any output on the far end of the pipeline as factories before it will eat up all the production as they fill up and that resolves itself after a while.

So, first, check the input/output quantities of each building you have on the network and verify that you’re producing enough fuel for the generators. Second, try to rebuild pipeline from the point where you don’t have anything even if you should. And notice that refinery doesn’t have steady output, so adding a fluid tank on the line is pretty much necessary for a steady production.

    Hope this helps.

In this case, shouldn’t the output per pipeline be 33% rather than 50%? After all, there are 3 outputs. Or is 50% on the “middle” pipeline and 50% on the two new ones together?

Pumps are directional. Are you, perhaps, installing them backwards?

For some reason, i never have seen this blue ring and i have build some pumps. But i will try it on a test pipeline, which will go straight upwards.
