Futurama warned us of this. Well, maybe it was brain slugs. But the parallels!

I just want the Holodeck/Trek-Style holograms to be invented, I don’t think that’s too much to ask for?

I’ll settle for SAO-style VR as a stopgap (Minus the locking in its users part (literally lmao))

What they seldom or never mention in the Trek universe is the number of dead, wounded, maimed, disfigured, decapitated, dismembered, disemboweled, misconfigured, unconfigured, undone, well done, rearranged, decompiled and disintegrated people and animals it took to perfect the technologies they use safely on a daily basis.

I’m definitely not going to get my body anywhere near any new technology that might even remotely affect my physiology.

Well the Holodeck is just light in a force field, so your physiology is safe for the most part.

Plus, we could invent teleporters just for packages, UPS and FedEx would vanish overnight lmfao

          Such calming reassurance 😄

Yeah. I’ll wait for a couple thousand successful and safe subjects before I consider it. Then another few thousand before I sign up.

Yeah. I’ll wait for a couple thousand successful and safe subjects before I consider it. Then another few thousand before I sign up.

All of this, but from a company not run by Phoney Stark as well.

lol. I’ll be impressed if Elon gets one for himself.

One of the biggest problems we have with tech is that it becomes outdated and eventually abandoned. What assurances do any of these users have that they won’t end up stuck with a piece of trash in their heads?
