I’m starting to think that O’Brien is an alien species that is the opposite of the Q
Instead of being omnipotent, all powerful beings that cause torture to others … they have little to no power and their only role in the universe is have others torture them.
Fun fact: That’s VERY close to what several sects of the old Gnostic Christians like the Cathars used to believe before the crazier Christians killed them off.
Some sects believed that mortality, the human existance, was actually Satan’s plan and a punishment to be tied to matter and suffer. Of course I’m grossly simplifying it, but there were many sects with varying beliefs, and the main thrust is they had different opinions on who was the good guy and why.
On the other hand, people shipped them so hard…
