The attached (NSFW) post is allegedly a gif uploaded to Lemmy, but doesn’t play on Boost.
Does play in the Lemmy webapp though.
Same problem has shown on multiple occasions for different posts.
Could you post some more gifs? I want to do some more research.

What’s amusing me is that sync is playing the gif in the thumbnail.

Every time I’ve uploaded a gif with Boost, it wasn’t animated. I had to upload it to an image hosting site and link it on Boost instead, and that worked.
