Yet another reason that solely camera-based vision is insufficient. We understand how tow trucks work because of experience, association and inference. In the absence of this, LiDAR, RADAR, or even simple ToF ought to prevent such a collision.
You’ve clearly never seen a Waymo before. They have Lidar and Radar sensors all over them.
And yet this failure is being blamed on the vision system.
The software hates that truck!
