A trial is scheduled for May 6 in Manhattan federal court.

So Menendez is probably going to face a criminal trial for stuff he did in 2022 before Trump gets his trial for stuff he did in 2021? Don’t get me wrong, it’s great that this corrupt jackass might finally see some justice this year, but I’d prioritize violent traitors over greedy hacks personally.

And Texas state Attorney General Ken Paxton’s secutities fraud trial, a first-degree felony with a punishment of up to 99 years in prison, for crimes he committed in 2011 and was indicted for 9 years ago? It’s a freaking master class in delaying a trial. They have made every move in the book, and probably added a few chapters to it, in order to delay this or get it thrown out. Hell, the prosecutors haven’t even been paid since 2016!

“Republican corruption”. They still want dems prosecuted. Even if they didn’t commit a crime.

True but I also want to point out that we’ve know this guy was a corrupt asshole for years now. I hope his supporters and defenders since then are ashamed of themselves.

In charging the senator last September, prosecutors said investigators had found gold bars and envelopes stuffed with cash inside jackets in Menendez’s apartment.
